You are probably wondering by now, “So what’s the big deal about discharge, and how does it differ from the standard plastisol inks?” We believe that once you experience the magic of discharge, you may never want to return to the standard inks. Discharge inks contain a bleaching agent as well as pigment, and when the ink is screened, it is absorbed into the fabric, leaving no surface ink whatsoever. We use the term “soft hand” since when you touch the ink, it is as soft as the rest of the shirt.

Degree of difficulty: 8/10

  • Discharge colors can be altered by dyes in the garment

  • 100% cotton is most reliable

  • Water-based inks are quick-drying and may dry on the screen

  • With PMS matching, we try our best, guaranteed

  • Inks that are activated cannot be saved

  • Inks are mixed using formulas & precise weights of pigments

In essence, discharge printing takes a lot more care to achieve the best results. If you’re interested in using Discharge Inks please email mick@graphicfacts.com.
